Networking in the Use of Alternative Therapies for Women’s Empowerment and Growth in Recovery Processes in West Bank Shelters (2013)
The project is an exchange between Catalan and Palestinian professionals working in alternative therapies to promote an intervention model that integrates conventional and alternative disciplines to provide tools for the global approach of working with women victims of gender-based violence.
The project meets an explicit demand from Palestinian professionals working in reception centres, with whom previous contact was forged, during the association’s previous projects in the area.
This exchange will be structured through professional training in technical skills for the comprehensive approach to care services for women victims of gender violence and a series of workshops given by women professionals in alternative therapies in both areas.
The project was developed in the West Bank, given the high difficulty of mobility of Palestinian professionals. The second part of the project involves Palestinian professionals’ active participation in various activities in Catalonia, such as the European Forum against Gender Violence.
The whole project is part of the process to monitor and support the assimilation of the changes produced by implementing UN Women’s Strategic Plan against Gender Violence and the new Civil Code in the West Bank.
