Nablus, West Bank, Palestine
The aim of the project is to improve the quality of life of women in Nablus without higher education who come from vulnerable family backgrounds and are survivors of sexist violence against women.
The project is being implemented in Palestine and Catalonia. In Palestine, we contribute to the economic and psychosocial empowerment of 50 women in and around the city of Nablus. All will receive support in their job placement processes and will take part in training in the rights and prevention of violence against women, acting as agents of change and helping to raise awareness among the residents of Nablus regarding gender issues. Together, they will work with other women from Nablus and Barcelona to advocate for women’s rights and the prevention of violence against women locally and around the world.
We work closely with Nablus City Council to promote shared gender responsibility between the general population and the city’s main institutions.
The project includes the following services:
- Training (professional, in rights and in leadership and skills) and support for women from Nablus without higher education to maximise their placement in the local job market.
- Gender training for Nablus City Council staff to consolidate the gender perspective in municipal public policies.
- Awareness-raising (on gender) aimed at the residents of Nablus and the surrounding area.
