Exhibition put on by various women survivors of various forms of sexist violence against women. Sexist violence against women stems from a patriarchal, racist, classist, capacity-building and LGTBI-phobic system that runs through us in different ways and in many areas and violates our most fundamental human rights here and everywhere.

“Resistències de dones a Catalunya i Palestina” (“Women’s Resistance in Catalonia and Palestine”) emerges from the exhibition “Dones Supervivents” and broadens the perspective of sexist violence that can be caused by our partner, family, friends, a faculty member, our boss at work, a legal system that ensures protection and justice or even systematically by the state. However, we want to raise awareness of the global scope of these forms of structural violence, of the specific manifestations suffered by women in the context of the occupation of Palestine and of the potential for mutual support among women for collective resistance, recovery and empowerment.

“Resistències de Dones a Catalunya i Palestina” collects real testimonies of surviving women through symbolic photographs and personal stories linked to our organisation in Catalonia and the organisation Family Defense Society in Palestine, through its women’s shelter in the city of Nablus, Palestine.
