This project is part of the awareness-raising activity of the Hèlia andPau Sempre associations (in partnership with the Palestinian Community in Catalonia and the Young Students’ Association of Catalonia) with material and participants in West Bank housing reconstruction and the Women’s Delegation. Two different areas are being worked on in the field, the reconstruction of houses and the double oppression of women to inform the population and young people in particular of the situation in Palestine and the human rights that are being violated there, which is why we decided to carry out this awareness-raising project together in order to incorporate all perspectives when conveying the values of equality, peace and the defence of human rights.

This awareness is raised in collaboration with members of the Palestinian community, in partnership with local bodies working on the ground every day and schools and universities in cooperation with student associations such as the AJEC. The aim of the project is to raise awareness about the situation in Palestine and Israel, where human rights are being systematically violated.

Thus, we stress the vulnerable situation facing half the population (women), as well as the fact that their rights are relegated to the background all too often in countries in conflict. Our awareness also emphasises everything we can learn from Palestinian women in the change in mentality and culture needed to eradicate sexist violence against women in the society we live in.
