Neighbor x Neighbor is a community network made up of professional and voluntary women’s groups that act as active agents to reach neighborhoods free of violence towards women. The project promotes the formation and coordination of groups of women in each neighborhood that have the objective of sensitizing the neighborhood and at the same time accompanying their neighbors immersed in situations of sexist violence in their recovery process from a perspective of community empowerment.

The ultimate goal is integral (emotional and face-to-face) support to women who want to leave a process of sexist violence, offering social and community support in the process of recovery of the violence suffered, facilitating empowerment to promote changes in your personal situation and generating and consolidating networks of mutual support between neighbors.

It is possible thanks to the group of voluntary women that makes the sorority and solidarity between women in the feminist social fabric of Barcelona a reality. The volunteers from a proper training and monitoring by the professionals, they accompany their neighbors to the different actions and processes by which surviving women pass: accompany them to the courts, their police officers, visits with lawyers or lawyers, to medical visits, to the school of creatures, to administrative procedures, to social services … all the way, often difficult, to continue to repair the evil received.

This project has received the PIADs 2016 Award from the Barcelona City Council for good community practice!
